A laptop consists of a set of components, and when they fail, they need to be replaced. The most common issues are:
-
Broken screen (LCD, display) – This is a fragile glass. If you step on the laptop, place an object (pen, pencil) on the keyboard and close it, the screen can break. The required repair is screen replacement.
-
Non-working keyboard or part of the keys – The keyboard consists of plastic films with graphite or silver coating. When liquids or moisture get in, the graphite/silver coating spreads, causing part or all of the keyboard to stop working. Most often, the keyboard fails due to liquid spills. The coating cannot be restored, so the required repair is keyboard replacement.
-
Damaged hard drive (HDD, hard disk) – The first sign of a problem is slow laptop booting. Then Windows may not load at all, or it may freeze during operation. If the issue is not with the OS, often a hard drive replacement is necessary. Using service tools, we diagnose the HDD or SSD at a physical level, allowing us to professionally assess its performance and decide on further actions. If the disk has many errors, repairing it may no longer be feasible. However, if important unreadable data is on the disk, we offer data recovery services.
-
Damaged body, requires case repair – This is a common issue lately. The cases are made thin and fragile. With physical impact or when the lid is opened to its maximum angle, the hinges can easily break. We perform repairs or replace the broken parts, or sometimes the entire case. However, we often try to offer a budget option – repairing the broken case using special two-component glue or other materials to prolong its life.
-
Fan replacement (FAN) or cooling system maintenance – If the laptop is overheating, and the cooling fan is constantly working, making noise or rattling, we recommend our "cooling system maintenance" service. The device is disassembled, the cooling system is removed, all rotating parts are lubricated, and thermal paste is replaced. After reassembling, the quality of the work is tested by running special programs to load the processor and check its stability.
-
Laptop won't turn on – If the charging, power, or other indicator lights on the laptop do not turn on when the power button is pressed, there are several possible reasons:
- Power adapter (block) is not working
- Power adapter cable is broken
- Motherboard is malfunctioning.
Laptops have a single board that connects the screen, keyboard, hard drive, and other components. It is responsible for the overall functionality of the device. If it fails, the device cannot be used. But we offer motherboard component-level repair services. Our workshop has many donor boards for laptop repairs, and we have almost any parts in stock.
-
What to do if the laptop is spilled with coffee, tea, water, cola, or other liquids – The most important thing is not to turn on the device. If it was on, turn it off immediately! Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery. This is crucial because failing to do this may result in more serious damage. If you bring the laptop to our service within a few hours or the shortest possible time, we will try to carry out an affordable repair.
-
Power adapter (charger) not working – Our specialists check exactly what the issue is with the power block. If the cable is damaged, the repair will be inexpensive. In any case, repair is significantly cheaper than buying a new or used adapter.
-
Bad contact or broken power connector – Very often, when powered by an outlet, the power connector in the laptop gets damaged. A lot of current goes through it to power the laptop and charge the battery, making it susceptible to high load. If you accidentally pulled the cord and the connector started to lose contact, we offer "repair or replacement of the power connector" service. We have a wide range of connectors available and can either find the right one or repair your existing one.
-
Battery replacement – Over time, laptops stop running on battery power. Eventually, when there is a power outage or when the power cable is unplugged, the laptop shuts down. Inside the battery, there are usually six power cells and a charge controller that tracks charge/discharge cycles. When the capacity of the cells decreases or one cell fails, the controller blocks the battery, showing a message like "not charging" or "battery needs replacement." Repairing batteries is not cost-effective, as the cost exceeds the price of a new battery. We recommend replacing the battery with a new one. We will choose the appropriate replacement, check the voltage and charge current, and return you a fully functional laptop.
We also replace drives (DVD-RW), speakers, USB ports, repair or replace keyboard keys, and other components. All repairs and replacements are done as quickly as possible, so you will have a fully working laptop in no time.
